HIAX Food Frameworks
A way of thinking about food that applies regardless of dietary preference or goal.
I define frameworks as ‘meta-nutrition’ or a higher way of thinking about a topic. It is a set of principles that transcends science and can be applied widely to anything by anyone. They are not prescriptions or hard rules about what to do but ways to think about something that can be adapted to your needs.
I developed these over a decade of coaching experience and nearly 2 decades of personal experience. I live health and nutrition and my approach evolves and changes daily as I tweak and adjust. These meta-frameworks are ideas that have been refined over the years and are now more or less stable, and therefore likely to withstand the test of time.
❌ For example, a 'named diet' is not a framework, it is a package for complicating something that should be simple, for the purpose of manufacturing value so that it can be sold.
❌ Counting calories is also not a framework, it is merely a tool for gathering data (and all the human imperfections that come with that process).
✅ A framework would be how you approach enjoyment around food. The actual food is irrelevant, but enjoyment is a universal experience that we want to optimize (and that most of us do wrong).
